Excursion Steamer "Seagate"
The Drakes were captains of passenger ships operating out of New Hamburg for many years.
Captain Frank Drake lived at 3 Main St. (marked as "Presbyterian parsonage" on an 1876 map).

Stone St. (looking north from Main Street)
Today Stone St. does not go all the way to Main St. but ends at Bridge St. (the center of this photo). The two houses on Main St. still exist, as does the third house on the left.  All the houses on the east side of Stone St. were either moved or taken down when the railroad cut was made.
The second house on the left (today it would be in the middle of Bridge Street) was moved back onto Bridge Street.
Notice the oil street lamp on the right corner.
Village Park, New Hamburg
Main Street ended at a small park on the Hudson River, where 2 Main Street is located today.

Village Park, Main and Point Streets
This is the identical picture as above, but on the frame are written the names of the owners of the houses on either side of the park:  Frank Drake (on the right--3 Main Street) and Arthur Van Nosrand (on the left).
