Adolph Brower House
c. 1840
"Excellent example of a classic Greek Revival structure, with all details retained.  They can be observed in the cornice, balustrades, window and door treatments, and the two-tiered porch.  The brick pattern is known as common bond."

An 1820 map shows lime kilns on Division Street. The Adolph and Abraham Brower houses were built to oversee the lime kiln and quarry operation. By 1870, the lime kilns were gone, but the quarry remained.
